BI Tool

This was one of my first projects at Bayoonet AG and the first large scale development effort. Before my time my colleagues already implemented a first Business Intelligence tool that enabled communication between various business data formats, their approval and controll as well as reporting. This tool then had to be extended for other business processes in a new sprint and that is when I came in.
The tool was available in the customers network as a distributed desktop application and would continuously be developed by Bayoonet. Therefore we set up a CI/CD environment with a staging system in the customers system. Most of the computational tasks where implemented in the desktop application but were later moved to stored procedures for performance reasons. Various data processing services were also coupled to the system to feed, modify or refresh data on a daily basis. The desktop tool is used to present the data, make small adjustments and approve it. Some functionality is also based in excel sheets and access databases which were read using EPPlus and OleDB respectively. In some cases reporting was also done using excell which also consisted of simulations and reupload of modified data.

The tools I used during this project were Visual Studio 2017 and MS SQL Server Management Studio 2017. The project was organised using Team Foundation Server which is now Azure Dev Ops.
